(Sandy Cove, North East, Maryland, USA)
Many summer mornings, long before most people are awake, I stand there and utter, “Are you kidding me right now, Lord? You are amazing.” Pinks and purples illuminate the sky for mere moments, and then fade away. When I tell people how epic the sunrise was, they say, “Really? I was sleeping.” Let it be known that God is always working, always moving, always painting… even when we are sleeping.
On this particular morning, our family was preparing to leave Sandy Cove Ministries (Maryland). I woke up early to catch the sunrise, a practice I’d completed each morning while I was there. Around 5:45am, the Lord began painting the sky while ripples formed on the water from the wind that moved across it. I’m reminded of two of the greatest ripples of all time—the one that took place in the garden, and the one that took place on the cross. Thanks be to God; to Him be all glory.
For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
— Romans 5:19 (ESV)
